What it does
A theme edit, an app update or a new script can break Add to Cart without any warning. Orders slow down and nothing tells you why. Cart Alarm watches each Add to Cart try on your storefront and checks that the item reached the cart.
It first learns what a normal day looks like for your store. After that it emails you when tries fail far more often than usual, and again when adds are working. There is nothing to set up.
What you get
- An email alert when Add to Cart tries fail far more often than is normal for your store
- A second alarm for a dead button, when shoppers view products but nobody adds
- A follow-up email when adds work again, so you know the fix held
- A home page in your Shopify admin with today's tries and the last 7 days
What it can't catch
- Themes that add to cart without a standard product form. Most Shopify themes use one. Some custom themes and page builders don't.
- Problems in the cart, at checkout, or with payment. This version watches Add to Cart only.
- Shoppers who decline analytics tracking where your store asks for consent. They aren't counted.
- Quiet stores get slower alerts. The app shows how fast it would catch a full break at your traffic.
