I can't check in
You have to be at the place. crawl checks your location when you tap Take it, so the button only shows when you are close enough. If you are standing inside and it still says Walk there, open iPhone Settings, choose crawl, then Location, and make sure Precise Location is on. Then step toward a window or the door for a moment so your phone can find itself.
I lost a place I had just taken
A place is yours for the night's score once you have stayed 30 minutes. Leave before that and it goes back. Your phone has to keep telling crawl you are still there, so keep crawl open in the background. Do not swipe it away from the app switcher. Setting location to Always in crawl's Settings page makes this more reliable when your phone is in your pocket.
Someone stole my place
That is the game. The first person there holds the place until they leave. Then the next person in line steals it. Go back and get in line.
The timer on my Lock Screen
While you are checked in, crawl shows your place and a timer on the Lock Screen and at the top of your iPhone. To turn it off, open crawl, go to Settings, and turn off Show my timer. If it never shows, open iPhone Settings, choose crawl, and turn on Live Activities.
Subscriptions
crawl is free to play, with 2 places a night and 3 held at a time. A new account has full Pro for its first 7 days, with no card. Pro gives you 8 places a night, keeps every place you take, and lets you start a crew. Each player pays for their own Pro. Apple handles every payment.
- Restore a purchase: open crawl, go to Settings, and choose Restore purchases. Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the Apple Account that paid.
- Cancel or change a plan: open iPhone Settings, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, then crawl. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: Apple decides refunds. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Invites
Your invite code is in crawl under Settings. When a friend you invited stays 30 minutes at their first place, you both get 50 XP and the Plus One sticker. The full rules are in the app under Invite rules.
Another player is bothering me
Open their profile and block them. They can no longer drop stickers on you or see you as a friend. To report a player, a name, or a photo, email james@jamesmckinney.xyz with their username.
Hide where I am
In crawl's Settings you choose whether friends see which place you are at. Turn on Low-key tonight to hide for the night. Other players never see your exact location.
Delete my account
Open crawl, go to Settings, and choose Delete account. This removes your account and what you did in the game. It does not cancel a subscription. Cancel that first in iPhone Settings.
