What Crawl is
Crawl is a location game for iPhone. You check in at bars to take control of them on a shared map, hold them, and take them from other players. The game is free to play. Crawl Pro is an optional subscription.
Who can use Crawl
To use Crawl, you must:
- be at least 21 years old;
- be of legal drinking age where you are playing, if that age is higher than 21;
- be able to agree to these terms, and not be barred from using Crawl by law; and
- keep only one account, and not share it with anyone.
We may close any account we believe belongs to someone under 21.
Drink responsibly and get home safe
Crawl never requires you to drink, and nothing in the game rewards how much you drink. You are responsible for your own choices and your own safety. Follow local laws on alcohol, and never drive after drinking. Ride home in the app opens a ride-share app for you; those rides are provided by that company under its own terms.
Bars on the map are real businesses that are not part of Crawl and do not endorse it. Follow their rules and their staff, respect other guests, and leave when asked. Do not go anywhere you are not allowed to be in order to play. Bar details in the app, such as whether a bar is open, may be wrong or out of date.
Fair play
Crawl only works if everyone is really where they say they are. You agree not to:
- fake, spoof, or change your location, or use tools, emulators, or modified devices to do so;
- use bots, scripts, or modified versions of the app, or access our servers other than through the app;
- use more than one account, or let someone else play on yours;
- exploit bugs to gain points or control of bars instead of reporting them to us; or
- interfere with the game or other players' use of it.
We use automated checks to detect cheating. If we believe a claim, points, or a leaderboard position was gained unfairly, we may void or remove it, reset progress, or suspend or close the account. We may adjust game rules, such as points or the 30-minute stay, to keep the game fair and fun.
Your account and username
You sign in with Apple and are responsible for activity on your account. Your username and bio are shown to other players, so choose them with that in mind. Usernames are checked against a list of banned words. We may change or remove a username or bio that is offensive, impersonates someone, or breaks these terms.
How you treat other players
You agree not to use Crawl to:
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or intimidate anyone, or use the game to find or follow someone in real life;
- post or send hateful, sexual, violent, or otherwise objectionable content;
- impersonate a person, a bar, or a business;
- spam or advertise; or
- break the law or violate anyone else's rights.
You can report, block, or mute any player from their profile. We review reports and may remove content, change usernames, or suspend or close accounts, with or without notice. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users.
You own what you create in Crawl, such as your username and bio. You give us permission to store, show, and use it as needed to run Crawl for you and other players.
Crawl Pro
Crawl Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. It adds cosmetic extras, such as more colors, seasonal sticker packs, and your full history. Pro never gives a competitive advantage: no extra points, no protection from steals, no faster check-ins, and no extra information about other players. What Pro includes may change over time.
- Plans. Yearly, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, and weekly, with no free trial. The price, billing period, and any trial are shown before you confirm.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Canceling. Manage or cancel in the iPhone Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions. If you cancel at least 24 hours before a free trial ends, you will not be charged. Deleting the app or your Crawl account does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds. Apple handles billing and refunds under its own policies. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
- Restoring. On a new device, open Settings in Crawl and choose Restore purchases while signed in to the same Apple Account.
Ending your account
You can stop playing at any time and delete your account in Settings. See the Privacy Policy for what deletion removes. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Crawl. When an account is closed, your access to the game and any unused subscription time may end. Apple's refund policies still apply.
Crawl and its design
JPM Inc. owns Crawl, including its code, design, name, stickers, and original content, except for material owned by others, such as map data from Mapbox and its contributors. You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable license to use the app under these terms and Apple's license agreement.
Changes and availability
Crawl will change as we fix bugs and add or remove features. It may be unavailable at times, and it depends on your iPhone, iOS version, location permissions, and services run by others, such as Apple and Mapbox. We may stop offering Crawl. When practical, we will give reasonable notice before a change that takes away paid features.
No warranties
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Crawl is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that the app will be error-free, that location checks will always be accurate, that bar information is correct, or that any bar is safe. We are not responsible for the conduct of other players, bars, their staff, or ride-share companies.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, JPM Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities, arising from your use of Crawl or from anything that happens while you go out to play it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Crawl Pro during the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow every limitation, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms or the law while using Crawl and someone brings a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
Apple terms
Your license to use Crawl is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms are between you and JPM Inc., not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Crawl, its content, or supporting it. If these terms conflict with terms Apple requires for App Store apps, the required Apple terms control.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Michigan will have jurisdiction unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when Crawl or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to play after that means you accept the new terms.
