What Echoes is
Echoes is a voice notes app for iPhone. You talk, your iPhone writes it down, names it, and files it under a topic. The notes that sounded like something you meant to act on come back to you later as a reminder. There is no account and no sign-in.
What you need to run it
Echoes requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer running iOS 26 or later, because the transcription and the understanding run on the device using Apple Intelligence. Older iPhones cannot do that work locally, and Echoes will not send your words elsewhere to make up the difference. The App Store listing carries this requirement, so an unsupported iPhone cannot download or buy the app. Apple Intelligence also has to be turned on in iOS Settings. If it is off, Echoes says so and shows you where the setting lives.
Paying for Echoes
Echoes requires a purchase to use. Three options are offered in the app:
- weekly, $5.99 per week;
- annual, $39.99 per year, which starts with one free week for eligible new subscribers; and
- lifetime, $59.99, paid once and not a subscription.
Those are United States prices. Your local price, the billing period, and any trial you qualify for are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm anything. Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
The weekly and annual plans renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can cancel or change a plan in your Apple Account settings in the App Store. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not shorten the period you already paid for. If you start a free trial and then buy a subscription before the trial ends, any unused part of the trial is forfeited, which is Apple's rule for all App Store trials.
Apple handles billing, receipts, and refund requests. JPM Inc. cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase.
What lifetime means
The lifetime purchase unlocks Echoes on your Apple Account with no subscription and no recurring charge. It covers the app for as long as JPM Inc. offers it on the App Store. It is not a promise that the app will be published, supported, or compatible with future iPhones and iOS versions forever, and it does not cover a separate app released later under a different name.
If your access ends
Echoes needs an active subscription or the lifetime purchase to open. If a subscription lapses, your recordings and transcripts are not deleted. They stay on your iPhone, and subscribing again restores access to them. The erase-everything control lives inside the app, so reaching it means having access. If you would rather not resubscribe, deleting the app removes its data from the iPhone.
Your recordings
You own what you record and everything Echoes makes from it. The app works with that material on your device to do the things you asked for: transcribing, titling, filing, answering questions, reminding you, and exporting. You are responsible for what you record and for anything you choose to share out of the app.
Recording other people is your responsibility. Laws about recording a conversation differ by state and by country, and some require everyone in the conversation to consent. Follow the law where you are.
Echoes is not a reminder service you should depend on
Transcription can mishear you. The on-device model can title something oddly, file it under the wrong topic, answer a question imprecisely, or decide an echo was not actionable when you meant it to be. Notification delivery depends on iOS, your permissions, and your device settings, and it is not guaranteed. Do not use Echoes as your only record of something that matters, and do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical reminders. Check your own words in the app; every answer shows you the note it came from for exactly this reason.
Echoes and its design
JPM Inc. owns Echoes, including its code, design, name, and original content, except for material owned by Apple, RevenueCat, or another third party. You get a personal, limited, non-transferable license to use the app under these terms and Apple's license agreement. You do not receive ownership of the app itself.
Acceptable use
Do not use Echoes to:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- record someone without the consent the law requires;
- probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, or damage the app or the services it relies on;
- work around the purchase requirement or any security control; or
- distribute malware or abusive material through an export.
Availability and changes
Echoes will change as bugs are fixed and features are revised. Some parts depend on your iPhone model, your iOS version, Apple services, Apple Intelligence being available, permissions you grant, and an active purchase. The app may be interrupted or discontinued. When it is practical, reasonable notice will be given before a change that materially affects paid access.
No warranties
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Echoes is provided "as is" and "as available." No promise is made that it will always be available, error-free, accurate, or right for your purpose.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, JPM Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, recordings, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of Echoes. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Echoes during the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow every limitation, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Apple terms
Your license to use Echoes is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple is not responsible for maintaining or supporting Echoes. If these terms conflict with terms Apple requires for App Store apps, the required Apple terms control.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what Echoes keeps on your iPhone and the one outside service it uses. It is part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Michigan will have jurisdiction unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when Echoes changes or legal requirements do. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Continuing to use Echoes after revised terms take effect means you accept them.
