Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 12, 2025
Mixtape is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
Account stuff: Your username and whether you've connected Apple Music. We don't get your Apple ID email unless you give it to us separately.
Mixtape data: The tapes you make: titles, songs, artwork, liner notes. Also info about tapes you send and receive.
Usage data: Anonymous stats to help us make the app better.
How we use it
- To run Mixtape and let you make and share tapes
- To process any purchases you make
- To improve the app over time
Music data
We use Apple MusicKit to search and play music. We don't store your Apple Music library or listening history. Playback goes through Apple Music directly.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on Supabase, a cloud database. We use standard security measures to keep it safe.
Third-party services
- Apple MusicKit for music search and playback
- Google Gemini for AI artwork (we only send your text prompts, no personal data)
We don't sell your data
Seriously. The only people who see your mixtapes are the people you send them to.
Deleting your stuff
Want your data deleted? Email me at james@jamesmckinney.xyz and I'll take care of it.
Kids
Mixtape isn't for kids under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it here. The date at the top will tell you when it was last updated.
